Battery

Forge 60 is a compact high-output work light built around 60W / 10,000 lm peak output, active cooling, 45W Type-C charge and discharge, and a two-cell 21700 battery system.

  • 60W runtime: about 27 minutes
  • 30W runtime: about 54 minutes
  • 3W runtime: about 8 hours
  • Housing: PETG-FG 3D-printed shell set
  • Main PCB: 1.0mm; LED board: 1.6mm
  • IP2369 charge IC, 2S 13A protection board, 30 × 30 × 50 mm heatsink, and 3010 fan

LED configuration

Default configuration: Forge 60 ships with Seoul Semiconductor STW0L8PA 6V 5050 emitters in 5700K with approximately CRI 70.

Custom configurations: Contact us if you need a different emitter type or color temperature. Custom options are subject to component availability.

Battery options

With Battery: Includes one matched two-cell 21700 pack, ready to plug in.

Without Battery: No battery pack is included. Forge 60 requires two matched high-discharge 21700 lithium-ion cells configured as a 2S pack (7.2-7.4V nominal / 8.4V fully charged) with a compatible 2S protection board. Use cells with sufficient discharge capability for the selected output level. The pack connects through an XT30 lead; loose cells cannot be dropped in.

Forge 60 ships fully assembled.

Forge 60 FAQ

Clear answers about batteries, USB-C power, runtime, and 60W thermal design. Choose Your Forge 60
Are batteries included?

Choose With Battery for a ready-to-use light: it includes one matched two-cell 21700 pack, ready to plug in. Without Battery includes no pack. You supply your own 2S pack of two matched high-discharge 21700 cells (7.2-7.4V nominal / 8.4V fully charged) with a compatible 2S protection board and an XT30 lead. Loose cells cannot be dropped in.

How does it handle heat at 60W / 10000 lm?

The 60W mode uses a dedicated 30x30x50mm heatsink and a 3010 fan to move heat away from the LED head. High-output mode still produces heat during use.

Can it charge over USB-C?

Yes. Forge 60 is specified around 45W Type-C charge and discharge hardware.

Good thermal design for a printed body

I was curious whether a printed housing could handle a 60W light. The active cooling and metal heatsink layout are the important parts here. After testing it in short sessions, the design feels practical as long as you use it like a high-output tool and not a small low-power torch.

Ready to use and feels solid

It arrives fully assembled and ready to use. Just pay attention to the battery direction when loading the cells. The light feels solid in the hand. I would recommend it to makers and technical users, but it is just as easy to use for anyone who wants a finished work light out of the box.

Looks different from ordinary work lights

The design has a prototype engineering look, which I personally like. It does not feel like a generic plastic light from a hardware store. The printed body and visible module logic make it more interesting, especially if you care about how the product is built.

The beam is practical for work areas

The light spread is useful for a desk, garage, and general repair work. I prefer this over a narrow long-distance flashlight beam because it lights up the whole working area. The 30W mode is probably the setting I would use most often because it balances brightness and runtime well.

Nice balance between open source and product

What I like most is that it feels like a real product but still keeps the hardware spirit open. Seeing the board files and internal model gives more confidence in what is inside. That is a real strength for the right customer.

Battery access is a big advantage

The two 21700 battery setup is a good choice. I prefer replaceable cells because I do not want a light to become useless when the battery ages. The runtime numbers also feel realistic for this output level. High mode is for short use, while the lower mode is much better for longer jobs.

Best for makers and technical users

Forge 60 makes the most sense for people who enjoy practical hardware and understand that a high-power light has tradeoffs. The brightness is excellent, the charging setup is modern, and the serviceable design is a major plus. I would not position it as a simple mass-market flashlight, but as a capable maker-focused work light it is very compelling.
